Laurin Manning Gandy is a digital communications strategist based in South Carolina. She’s worked at the nexus of communications and technology for more than 15 years at the local, state, and national levels. Most recently, she served as Digital Director for United States Senator Cory Booker’s presidential campaign in South Carolina. In 2007 she was the second staffer hired in the Palmetto State by then-Senator Barack Obama and worked on his nascent presidential campaign through five state primaries and the general election.
Laurin and her work have been featured in numerous national news outlets, including NBC News, CNN, Washington Post, and POLITICO. Her web design for Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (D-MI) earned a gold “POLLIE” award for Best Congressional Website from the American Association of Political Consultants in 2015. Laurin was named one of Huffington Post‘s “Top 25 Political People to Follow on Facebook” in 2012.
Beyond political campaigns, Laurin has worked with national nonprofits like UNICEF and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and has extensive experience with environmental conservation advocacy groups, including the Conservation Voters of South Carolina and the South Carolina Coastal Conservation League.
Laurin and her (conservative!) husband and their five dogs and twenty-something chickens live on a farm in rural Darlington County, the heart of South Carolina’s Pee Dee region.
